Vntage Japanese Cigarette Case 950 Sterling Silver Mixed Metal

  

The workmanship in these always leaves me in awe. This case is a large case 6 1/2" x 3 1/4" x 3/8 in its original wooden box. If this was ever used it was done so very carefully and not often as there is little to no signs of use or wear. Depicting a landscape of a lake and Mt. Fuji it is beautifully crafted front, back and inside with the inside scene the exact reverse of the outside.

I presume to to be of mixed metal with silver 950 predominate. Hand etched details show a gold gleam (photos don't do that justice). Artist signature is on the back and it is marked SILVER 950 on the inside. The cigarette "gate" is in good working condition as is the hinge and clasp that closes with a secure snap (see the video).

It would benefit from a cleaning and buffing to bring it to complete perfection. Weight is 187.3 grams.
