Antique Japanese Meiji Period Sterling Silver Repousse Iris Flower Box
Exquisite Meiji-era Art Nouveau Japanese silver box ca 1890, with hinged lid and straight sides. Cover and sides of box are chased and engraved iris flowers and lily pads in eddying water. Is lined with stained wood. Mark, pictured, translates to "with pure" in English. Beautiful condition with signs of antiquity and hand creation, including pictures dents, silver solder along the hinge, separation of the hinge and wood in the interior and more. Box opens and closes smoothly. This box measures about 6" wide, by 2" tall by 3 1/2 front to back. Please check back often for delightful, esoteric and rare finds.
